Whether you're a dinghy sailor, a weekend boater, or a competitive yachtsman, the Suunto Regatta helps you make the most of any sailing experience. Among the Regatta's features are a regular timepiece, several chronograph functions, an electronic compass, and a sailing timer that's specially designed to meet the timing requirements before and during a tough race. The timer is particularly valuable during competitions--it was developed in collaboration with some of the world's top sailors--as it accurately counts down the time before the start of a race and alerts you with a warning signal when the moment is approaching. As a result, you can concentrate on maneuvering your boat into the optimal position for the start without losing track of the time. The electronic compass, meanwhile, offers a North-South arrow and a bearing display with cardinal or half-cardinal points to help you efficiently stay on course. Another valuable feature is the rotating bezel ring--with a ratchet every five degrees--for determining the start line bias and the wind direction. And, of course, the Regatta handles all the essential time-keeping functions and adds a few extras, such as a calendar clock preprogrammed to the year 2089, three daily alarms, dual time, and a traditional stopwatch. The stylish wristwatch housing is also notably easy to read--a must during frantic races--thanks to the large numerals and the electro-luminescent backlight.
